When I was here two years ago, one of the things I enjoyed the most was going up the glass cupola that sits on top of the Reichstag building. From the top of this cupola, you have a unique panoramic view of Germany's capital city. On a sunny day, you can see quite far away and it gives you a good sense of how much there really is to see here in Berlin. The view from the top of the Reichstag also shows you how green Berlin really is- there are parks and trees and green areas everywhere here, surprising for such a big urban city.
The Reichstag building houses the Bundestag, Germany's parliament. It is the members of the parliament that elects the Chancellor (presently the Chancellor of Germany is a woman, Bundeskanzlerin Angela Merkel), passes laws and oversees the work of the governement.
